Well, its almost the middle of November already which for me means my birthday(!!!) and of course, my Christmas tree is going up soon!

(This pic is of my little home office tree from last year, but I already have big plans for the decor this year so stay tuned!)
I love fall or course, but a close second in favorite seasons is the holiday season! I like to separate it from winter and I think of December its own season of holidays to celebrate. So, i think a fun way to kick off this season is with a list of activities and such that I want to do in the coming season.
When I think of the holidays, I think of cozy winter nights with fuzzy blankets and socks, watching the snow fall outside, warm bubble baths, time with friends and family, and lots of celebrating. So without further ado, here is my list of activities that bring me these vibes and that I can't wait to partake in!

1. Decorate the house
Something that brings me SO much joy is decorating my house for the season. As I mentioned, I decorate in mid November as I like to make sure its after Remembrance day and after my birthday.
2. Decorate a gingerbread house
... or gingerbread cookies!
3. Bake holiday cookies
This one is a given for me... its not the holidays without some homemade cookies!
4. Wrap presents
I love giving gifts to people and making people happy with little surprises, so I also really enjoy wrapping the gifts too! There is something about wrapping them and seeing them stacked under the tree that just makes me smile.
5. Go ice skating
I haven't done this in a while, but I really enjoy going skating, especially at an outdoor rink.
6. Watch my fav holiday movies
Something my boyfriend and I do throughout the fall & winter is have movie nights where we watch all of our favorite holiday themed movies. Its something I really look forward to every year.
7. Have a snow day
... whether it snows too much or not! Where I live, its kind of a toss up whether we will have a lot of snow or not. If I have a now day where I can't go anywhere then I usually get cozy and do all my favorite things: read, have a warm bath, stay in bed, watch movies, eat comfort foods, just really disconnect from the world and embrace all of my favorite resting activities. Whether it snows a lot or not though, I am hoping to take a day for me that looks like this!
8. Go for a drive to look at the lights
There is a big display of lights near me that are set up for the holiday season that I love to drive through and see, but I also love driving around some neighborhoods and looking at all of the holiday decorations people have put out.
9. Give back to those in need
As I am writing this post, I cant help but remember how privileged I am to be able to look forward to all of these fluffy holiday things. There are so many people out there that don't have the opportunity to do these things and so many less fortunate than us, so its really important to give back in many ways throughout the season and always. Some things I like to do are donating my books, donate to charity, and even volunteering in my community.
10. Read holiday books
I have a whole TBR pile of holiday reads sitting on my desk as we speak, so keep an eye out for a holiday books post coming to you soon!
