Happy first football Sunday of the season! I am a huge Buffalo Bills fan and am so excited for this season. I will always pack my fall Sundays full of games on the TV and lots of yummy snacks.

Football for me really signifies the end of summer, so what better way to kick things off then with a read-a-thon! I have seen different versions of what a read-a-thon is, but for me I just enjoy the feeling of all of us reading and posting at the same time. So, whether you love football, put up with someone you love watching it all day, or simply just don't like it but don't want to miss out on the fun - this will be for you! Head on over to my Instagram for the details.

This time of year, I am always trying so hard to not get into full fall mode. Once September hits I am ready for all of the cozy things that come with the changing weather, however the temperature where I live is definitely not cozy sweater worthy yet. My mood reader self is totally conflicted, but its not quite time for the fall reads yet.

I've decided a good way to ease into the cozy season is by starting with some football themed reads since its time to kick-off the season! (Pun intended 😉)

Here is a list of some football themed books I have discovered to get us ready for September:

1. The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams

Bree Camden is totally in love with her best friend, star quarterback Nathan Donelson, but so is half of America. They have always been just friends, because its easier that way, right? That is, until Bree spills about her crush to a reporter and Nathans 'new girlfriend' goes viral. When Bree and Nathan are forced together for publicity, tensions rise as their friendship begins to change...

2. The Dating Playbook by Farrah Rochon

When it comes to personal training, Taylor Powell kicks serious butt. Unfortunately, her bills are piling up, rent is due, and the money situation is dire. Taylor needs a miracle.

And Jamar Dixon might just be it. The oh-so-fine former footballer wants back into the NFL, and he wants Taylor to train him. There's just one catch -- no one can know what they're doing. But when they're accidentally outed as a couple, Taylor's game plan is turned completely upside down. Is Jamar just playing to win . . . or is he playing for keeps?

3. Intercepted by Alexa Martin (The Playbook series #1)

Marlee Harper is the perfect girlfriend. She's definitely had enough practice by dating her NFL-star boyfriend for the last ten years. But when she discovers he has been tackling other women on the sly, she vows to never date an athlete again. There's just one problem: Gavin Pope, the new hotshot quarterback and a fling from the past, has Marlee in his sights.

Gavin fights to show Marlee he's nothing like her ex. Unfortunately, not everyone is ready to let her escape her past. The team's wives, who never led the welcome wagon, are not happy with Marlee's return. They have only one thing on their minds: taking her down. But when the gossip makes Marlee public enemy number one, she worries about more than just her reputation.

4. Lastly, I had to include a fun book that’s coming up...

I am super excited about this one! If you enjoyed ‘The Cheat Sheet’ by Sarah Adams, the author is coming out with another football themed book next spring. Check out ‘The Rule Book’, comping April 2, 2024. Click the book cover to pre-order:

Nora Mackenzie’s entire career lies in the hands of famous NFL tight end Derek Pender who also happens to be her extremely hot college ex-boyfriend. Nora didn’t end things as gracefully as she could have back then, and now it’s come back to haunt her. Derek is her first client as an official full-time sports agent and he’s holding a grudge.

Derek has set his sights on a little friendly revenge. If Nora Mackenzie, the first girl to ever break his heart, wants to be his agent, oh he’ll let her be his agent. The plan is simple: make Nora’s life absolutely miserable. But if Derek knows anything about the woman he once loved—she won’t quit easily.

Instead of giving in, Nora starts a scheme of her own. But then a wild night in Vegas leads to Nora and Derek in bed the next morning married. With their rule book out the window, could this new relationship be the thing to save their careers or the thing to spark the romance of a lifetime?

That's all for now. Let me know in the comments what your favorite football themed read is or which I have missed! If you are joining in my read-a-thon, make sure to tag me in your posts!!

Happy Sunday 🖤
